8Cover The Fee

This allows you to ask the donor to cover the processing fee for you. You can make the fee cover an opt-out selection. You can make it required. Most charities find that they greatly reduce or eliminate their processing fees by using cover the fee.

Set a goal amount and add a progress bar to track the goal for your campaign. With the embeddable widget, you can display your campaign’s progress on your web site. You can add cash and check payments from your campaign page for an accurate total.

Account Updater

This service requests updates from the card issuers. We will automatically update an expiration date, a card number, or post a closed account notice. We keep a log of changes in the Notes section of your recurring transaction record.

Donor Communication

For cards that can’t be automatically updated, GiveDirect will send a notice to your contributor when a card on file is expired or when a payment fails with instructions on how to update the payment method. And, we answer the phone! If your contributor calls us, they will be able to quickly speak with someone to make an update.

Charity Communication

We keep you informed by sending you an email notice any time a payment fails, any time a GiveDirect admin makes a change to one of your transactions, or any time your contributor updates a donation or membership from GiveDirect.org.

Annual Reminders

A reminder email notification is sent to your annually recurring contributors one month in advance of the payment.

Control Panel Management

GiveDirect charges 1% per transaction for all the features built into the platform. Credit card fees are 2.9% + $.30 per transaction. eCheck fees are .25% + $.30 per transaction. To facilitate our partnership with the Payrix payment gateway, there is a $49 annual fee.

Most charities lower or eliminate fees by using the cover-the-fee option and encouraging contributors to add the cost of the fee to their contribution.

Absolutely. Extensive customization is available. Design assistance is offered for free. Custom event and membership forms have some elements prepared by us using your identified requirements. Our designer will work closely with you to determine your needs and offer suggestions.

Yes. The option to make a gift dedication is built into any form. GiveDirect will acknowledge the gift with the donor. The charity will acknowledge the gift with the Tributee.

Yes. The donor may select the option to make a donation recurring monthly, quarterly or annually. Recurring contributions are processed on the 15th of each month (or the next business day if the 15th is a major holiday).

The recurring option cannot be disabled on the standard donation form. However, we can set up a custom form for you that does not include a recurring option, or one that offers Monthly only or Annually only. There is no cost for this service.

Your contributors will see a shortened version of your charity's name on their statements. The merchant name will read "DON* Your Charity's Name." The DON* prefix indicates that it is a GiveDirect transaction.

You will receive an email as soon as a donation is made. From the GiveDirect Control Panel, you can view, print, and download your transactions. If you are running an integration with your CRM, the transaction will automatically be added.

You may opt for a monthly or weekly plan for deposits. Deposits are sent via EFT. The monthly deposit happens on or before the 5th of the month, for the previous month's donations. We do not send paper reports or emails, but you may use the Deposits area of the Control Panel to do the reconciliation.

You can log in to your GiveDirect Control Panel at any time to get a complete list of your transactions. The link to the site is https://givedirect.org/controlpanel
